Private yoga sessions allow a bespoke class, tailor-made for your requirements, be it areas of weakness, medical condition or injury, or to compliment sports training. It fits in with your lifestyle, cutting out the inconvenience of travelling to a class. Sessions can be booked early morning before work, anytime during the day or after work.
A private session is great for beginners, as it allows you to learn the fundamentals of breathing, alignment and yoga terminology, and can give you the confidence to come to a group class. It is also great for experienced students wishing to deepen their practice, or focus on a particular area.
I teach vinyasa flow, slow flow, modified ashtanga primary series, yoga nidra and well women yoga therapy, and often weave a mixture of these into my sessions with private students, according to their needs.
Well women yoga therapy is a gentle form of yoga aimed to connect us to our deep feminine power. It uses flowing movements, mudras, restorative poses and yoga nidra to boost general vitality, and it can be used if you have specific issues to do with menstruation, irregular periods, difficulty conceiving, endometriosis, during pregnancy, post-natally, symptoms of perimenopause, and post-menopausally. It connects us to our inner and outer rhythms and is a very grounding, nourishing practice.
Michelle combines a variety of styles and can tailor them according to need, which is helpful for me as I have intermittent back problems. I find our sessions calming and also helpful with addressing stiffness in my hips.
